Wow, good stuff. I recently saw his ‘last lecture’ and it was incredible. Used to live in the ‘Burgh and rode past this field on my bike too! Ha ha
The Steelers are a class act organization, definitely. glad Randy was able to do this and a Heinz Ward jersey/meet, to boot?!?! Killer. Way to go Randy. We all miss ya
my grandfather teaches at cmu…. i wonder if he knew randy?
Randy Pausch is a god damn hero for all of us………if you cant learn something from his life and message of hope and love, then you dont deserve to live.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the classiest organization in all of sports
Watched this on TV. He was so cool. Just wish he was here to see us win the Super Bowl. Well, now that i think about it, he did see it-from the greatest seat in the house. And I bet him and Myron Cope cheered so loud that everyone in Hell heard them.
Randy was an amazing man! I absolutely look up to him and he is without a doubt the most influential person I’ve ever known about. A man worthy of immense respect. I saw his last lecture and I just couldnt believe me eyes as to how cool he was up there giving the talk. A strong man indeed. And that lecture has taught us all so much. All I can even hope for is to be 10% of how determined, practical and strong Randy was. May his soul rest in peace.
i look up for what this guy stood for he did let anything get in the way of his dreams he knew what he wanted and he went for it. i also belive that at the super bowl the steelers gave the win to randy as well as our dear myron and all of pittsburgh along with all the steelers fan to stuck with the team. but i really think it was for randy and myron all of steeler country and pittsburgh miss you guys.
You got a Super Bowl XLIII. And then keep up Steelers men strong, Go Go Go Steelers for next Super Bowl XLIV.
I wonder…. how many other stiller fans were screaming “this is for you- Myron and Randy… THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!!”
Super Bowl XLIII
I saw his last lecture at CMU. What an unbelievable man. I’m sure he’s pulling for us right now, and The Chief has a nice easy chair ready for him.
Thank you, ghawk.
“you get to that Super Bowl, I’ll live to see it.”
Now the Steelers are one win away from getting to the Super Bowl but sadly, Pausch isn’t with us anyway. Man, he would’ve loved to see that.
wat position is he
He’s a Unitarian Universalist actually. Though this religion incorporates atheism as a possible belief (or in that case, unbelief), he references his church in “The Last Lecture” book. That said, I’m don’t think we can say for sure whether he was an atheist or not. He did say he liked Unitarian Universalism because it focused more on reason and logic than dogma though.
What a cool Atheist.
Randy was an Atheist.
the man was only human, but look how he touched so many people with his message. Postive thinking is very powerful – that is one of the main points i take from the professor’s lecture. Another is to make sure i periodically take time to evaluate whether the course my life is taking makes me a happy and fulfilled person. If not, I have the power to take steps towards happiness. Life doesn’t have to be all work and no play.
This was so amazing that the Steelers let Randy do this. It was the last, if not one of the last few childhood dreams he never accomplished, and thanks to them he got to “be in the NFL” for atleast a day. Simply wonderful. He was such an amazing man! RIP Randy!
…Hines Ward caught 2 TD Passes in Steelers 2008 openimg game WIN in Pittsburg !
…Just what ‘The Dr.’ (Ph.D) ordered !
this was awesome piece of news
I have to get up for work in a few hours, and Dr’s videos are much better than sleep. Thanks for making all these videos for us to learn from should something like cancer hit us, or the loss of a loved one. My Daddy died of cancer of the pancreas also. Still miss him today, and that was 1977.
i had cancer and its so great to see this video esspecialy since its with the best football team in the nfl
great city and great football team. it’s good to see people like ben and ward making a difference in our world by making wishes comming true for others. we need more people like the steelers and randy in this world.
I’m glad that the Trib had this up. He was a great man, and our city’s Steelers are a great organization!
RIP Randy
